Our Yoga for Mum and Baby is especially designed for new mums to attend with their baby, and can be attended after your 6/8 week check. You do not need to have been practicing yoga to be able to enjoy the full benefits of these classes, as everything we will be doing is suitable for all levels. You certainly don’t need to be fit or flexible to attend, and the class is a very relaxed group of mums. Being part of a community of new mums, and taking some time out of your day to have time to connect with your body and your baby is important for your own sense of wellbeing and for the opportunity to bond with your baby. We will be strengthening and toning your muscles, focusing on abdominals, back and the pelvis floor. Creating space an opening the upper body, particularly shoulders and neck to relieve tightness from sitting feeding/breast feeding. We will offer breathing techniques which can be used to help calm yourself and your baby, and can be used to help to aid sleep and relaxation, and we will take time at the end of each class to rest quietly with your baby.
Your tutor Wendy specializes in offering yoga to women for fertility, during pregnancy and postnatally with experience in teaching yoga to these groups as well as using yoga during her own journey to conception, through pregnancy and postnatally.
At the start of each course you will receive a pack of information about other local classes and support groups and every couple of months we will be arranging meet ups, for mums who have attended our Pregnancy or Postnatal classes in the past.
The class is 40 minute taught, and 20 minute social time.
The group is limited to 8 mums, drop in’s will be allowed if the group is not full.
