We work very hard in our lives, and while we may sleep, we rarely take time to rest. Restorative yoga postures help us learn to relax and rest deeply and completely. During deep relaxation, all the organ systems of the body are benefited. A few of the measurable results of relaxation are the reduction of blood pressure and the improvement of immune function, as well as improvement in digestion, fertility, elimination and the reduction of muscle tension and general fatigue.
Restorative yoga is an active conscious relaxation practice. It is neither stretching nor strengthening but very much opening, and intense in terms of creating ease and softness in your body physically, mentally and emotionally. It is a form of Yoga that’s scientifically aims your Parasympathetic Nervous System (PNS) to artificially trigger “Relaxation Response” (feel good & heal/restore effect) in your body and does not require any strong physical effort. During a restorative yoga session, we create positions of ease and comfort with the help of props to promote maximum level of relaxation and health. It is a very gentle and therapeutic form of yoga with the goal of conscious deep rest. Restorative yoga facilitates your body's own natural healing quality. Resting is not a luxury or an optional privilege you have, it is essential for self-preservation and a manifestation of your respect to your unique life.
